OVEC (Overseas Education Centre), Mauritius, is an award winning facilitator in the field of further education abroad. OVEC offers free, ethical and customised services for a wide range of institutions and courses that suit every student’s needs according to his budget, his results and his country of preference. The core philosophy and mission of OVEC is to provide students with the opportunities and facilities needed to pursue further studies at top reputable universities, and support students at all necessary steps in their choice of selecting the appropriate university. OVEC prides itself in being a One Stop Shop for Education Worldwide. This helps students and their parents save on time and costs. OVEC recruits students who want to study abroad – we send them to Australia, Canada, China, India, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, the UK, and the USA. Our services to students are free of charge, we offer them counselling, course and career guidance, student support services (accommodation, visa advice, airport pick-up, etc) and assistance with the university application process.

OVEC started in 2002 with only one university. Slowly, OVEC made its way, building credibility, trust and a brand name that is today well known in the education sector. OVEC collaborates with more than 90 universities and other education Institutions across all continents.
In 2011, OVEC won the INTERNATIONAL QUALITY CROWN AWARD in London, an award dished out to top flight businesses.
In November 2013, Dr Dorish Chitson, Founder and CEO of OVEC, received the LifeTime Achievement Award, Africa’s Most Influential Women Awards, for her 40 years plus of experience and dedication to educational causes in Mauritius.
In 2015, OVEC was awarded the North America Agent of the Year by Navitas and in 2016 OVEC was awarded the Most Innovative Recruitment Agency by the ASRC in London.
Meet The Team
Founder & CEO
Dr Dorish Chitson, PhD, has a multi-disciplinary background. She started with a University Diploma in History & Geography, continued with Geography and Law up to the Master’s degree and finished off with a Doctorate in Social Science of Development. She also has a Postgraduate diploma in Management Studies from London.
Dr Dorish Chitson has over 40 years of experience in the education field – she has worked at most Loreto Convents, at the Queen Elisabeth College and has set up the Social Studies Department at the Bocage International School. At the tertiary level, she has collaborated with the University of Mauritius in various projects and presented research papers at international conferences. She has also carried out research for the Mahatma Gandhi Institute on a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC). Her research work on the “Social History of Labour laws in Mauritius” has been published in the Journal of Mauritian Studies. Since 2002, she has been running her own enterprise as Managing Director of the education consultancy agency, OVERSEAS EDUCATION CENTRE (OVEC).
Because she loves working with young people, she decided to give free counseling so as to help students in that crucial decision of choosing a course and career- she finds this spiritually very rewarding.
Dorish leads the Head Office in Moka and oversees all regions except Asia. She is also responsible for Company Policy, Marketing and Public Relations.
Franky Chitson, the son of Dorish, left his engineering job at the beginning of 2008 to help out with the work load at OVEC which was expanding very fast. Franky has a BEng (Hons) in Engineering and Business Finance from University College London (UCL) and London School of Economics (LSE). He is an Associate Member of IMechE – Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK) . He subsequently obtained a Masters Degree in Education Counselling.
Franky oversees the Asian market and manages the OVEC Port Louis Branch Office.
